Happy NEW YEARS!!

I wanted you to know that as the Ball dropped last night, Alan gave me a necklace. It was a Saphire necklace, and it is BEAUTIFUL.

We made Resolutions that we WILL keep. We plan to not let work rule OUR lifes, and I know that I will NOT let my manageing partner boss me around. Also I will get my hair done more frequently.

Alan and I wish all our Friends a Happy New Years!

  1. The only resolution I made this year was to use the term "New Years" as often as possible. So happy new years to you, Ellen, and a very happy new years to B. McLeod, wherever he may be. (Spoiler: B. McLeod is deep in his cups.)

Also, a little Protip from one lawya to another--You can get your hair done (or did) during lunch--even if it takes nearly two hours! All you have to do is wait until your managing partner goes to lunch, and leave 5 minutes after him. This buys you at least 1.9 hours, since he'll have no idea what time you went to lunch!

    Happy new years, everyone!

  2. Thank you very much, Ms. Ellen (and you, Deyseeme). Actually, I was very responsible over New Year's Eve and Day, having only a few Belhavens, a few Tennent's Lagers, and a few Young's Luxury Double Chocolate Stouts. But, I had a few things to catch up on at the office, and I reasoned that if I rose early today and drove in to work, I would have a mostly uninterrupted day. (As clients and colleagues would naturally assume me to be passed out at home, atop some young doxy, and surrounded by empty bottles). As it turned out, I only had two calls all day, so the strategy proved largely successful.

  3. Happy New Year to you and Allen. I hope you have a better year with the managing partner, and maybe even get to argue a case in court. It's amazing that McLeod is even conscious only 36 hours after the drinking began. When his family gets together, it's easier to rent a porta-John to handle all the fluids.
